In a courtroom not far away,
The righteous judge looked at me and said:
"You're charged with sin in the first degree.
Now tell me son, what will be your plea?"

I said "guilty, with explanation sir,
I was born in sin and that's for sure;
I was formed out of the miry clay;
I am guilty and that's my plea today."

He said, my child, I'm gonna pardon you.
Because I know that what you said is true.
You were made with nothing but the dust;
But I will save you if in my Son you'll trust.

My sins were washed away at calvary,
When Jesus shed His blood and died for me.
Now I'm saved throughout eternity;
Because I gave to Him my guilty plea.
